Abstract:

Portraits by Allen Ginsberg of various writers and other figures associated with the Beat Generation or other spheres of Ginsberg's activities: Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, Neil Cassady, Gregory Corso, Dalai Lama, Gelek Rimpoche, Elsa Dorfman, Robert Frank and June Leaf. Also includes a portrait of Ginsberg by Robert Frank, and a scene of boys diving off a pier in New York City by Sid Kaplan. 1: "Jack Kerouac, S.P. railroad brakeman's rule-book in pocket, visiting W.S. Burroughs then editing Yage Letters, on fire escape ... my apartment 206 East 7th St. Manhattan, probably September 1953. [signed] Allen Ginsberg."
